Ok, WOW. I absolutely loved this game. So glad to have found and played it. It took me a few times restarting before I realized that each run through added on to the other. Super interesting and cool. I also absolutely ADORE dragons, so obviously I loved this game for (SPOILER) allowing me to not kill this one.
I've had that thought too, in recent days! I made this during the school year, right before midterms, so I didn't have time to flesh out the skeleton of the story as much as I would've liked. I'm working on an update for ESCAPE in my spare time, one that includes a combat system, fuller story, and more messing around with the idea of (Spoiler) iterations and loops (/Spoiler) that set Twine apart as a medium. Something to make it feel more like a text-based RPG than a demo.
Now, it hasn't evaded my notice that Look Closer tends to be more popular than ESCAPE (and everything else I've done solo put together), so I've been setting aside some ideas for a similar Look Closer expansion as I go. If I can teach myself enough of the Twine script to make a go of it, I'd love to build out more options for applying the "look closer" mechanic at players' discretion. Make it more of a puzzle and less of a "figure out how it works and then it becomes an instant fix for everything." Develop the mechanic as a sort of character in its own right, one that can grow and change with player creativity.
Can't promise anything in the near term, but I'm already amassing ideas for someday~
...and when that 'someday' comes, there will be dragons. More dragons.
It really did take me awhile to figure out how difficult to make the puzzle; I wanted it to be accessible instead of an obscure easter egg that few people would see. I'm glad you connected with it!
I'm the WORST at puzzles and difficult games. This was easy enough for me, whilst still holding that challenge but in a fun way :D Most of the time, I get frustrated and refuse to look stuff up online or ask for help because that makes me feel dumb, only to get stuck and look it up online anyways (ahem Genshin Impact cough cough) and then feel frustrated with myself that I couldn't figure *that* out because it's so logic!
This time, though I indeed DID look closer and I loved it ^^ Thank you for making this :D It was very fun. I had to play through twice before I realised 'wait... (SPOILER ALERT!!!) The princess is with me now... so that's different than all the times before... Hmmm...' And then I fought them and I thought 'Wait... If *I* can't make it in time to the eggs... Maybe two people can?' (intense breath holding) (Intense breath release)
Nonetheless thank you for making this, I really love it ^^
I would love to, unfortunately my laptop is falling apart and I can't play the game anymore >.< I will for sure try to remember tho :D thank you so much ^^ I'm just finishing up Liyue to go to Inazuma now. Well, I was, before my laptop decided to not have the game work anymore... But I've been thinking about starting over because I can barely remember stuff. I didn't know what I was doing, so I accidentally skipped some stuff and now that I actually know what I'm doing I think I could do better ^^
This game was fantastic! I loved the idea of going through the same story, but having to learn about all it's characters more deeply to have a satisfying ending. 10/10!

Glad you got so much out of it. The dragon was the idea at the core of the whole project!
Certainly agree with this person here, I love dragons so I'm glad for the change we could make.
It'd be intriguing to see a sequel with more hijinx 🤔

Fantastic message, wish I could experience it for the first time again.
High praise indeed! Thank you~
Awww this is so beautiful. I'm super bad at puzzles but for me this was the perfect thing to figure out :) I love this :D

Genshin, huh? I really love that game too! If you're ever looking for people to co-op with, you're welcome to add me~
