Hi! I'm Cassidy, a 25-year-old game developer and writer from the United States. I publish most of my work under the pseudonym "Cass Aleatory." I'm a graduate of the Media Arts & Game Development (MAGD) program at UW-Whitewater. I haven't done much since my graduation, but now, the dead will return.
Group Project Updates:
None of the group projects (System Overload, End of The Party, Cliffhanger) are currently moving any further in development. To the best of my knowledge, they'll all be staying up for the foreseeable future.
Solo Project Updates:
I've taken down a few projects for now, but many will be getting updates, too! For the sake of closure, here's what the future looks like for each of my games~
A Semi Truck Ride with Disaster — Restricted for now on account of the story not having much to say outside of a specific context now relegated to the past. Re-release possible later pending complete story overhaul, moderate priority.
AGLST (Anime Girl Laser Space Tank) — Former flagship project, now restricted on account of the caustic discourse surrounding AI art. The topic's sudden and pervasive virility meant AGLST missed its chance to be an early adopter, helping me realize that the only reason I was making it was to try and break into the industry with a 'novel' development gimmick. Ironic, huh? Small chance of a reboot later, which would include a new story I'd be excited to tell and art from something with a pulse. Lowest priority.
Cross Back — Restricted for now on account of my privacy, the moment, and a desire to get the audio and visuals up to the same level as the story. Almost certainly returning later with the same sweet story.
ESCAPE — Staying up as my new flagship project, first and final major expansion confirmed and in progress. Some six years after its release, the story of ESCAPE will be fully built out, with better characterization, a more nuanced relationship system, new locations, new dialogue, two new main characters, and a combat system that features 'weapons' straight off a carnival prize rack! A conclusion worthy of what making this game has meant to me:
ESCAPE: Ultimate

Fall of 2025
Check the game's dev log for updates in the coming months~
Log Lady: Twin Peaks — Staying up. New content unlikely but possible for both the finale character and Sierra's secret ending. Optimization patch almost certain but a low priority.
Look Closer — Staying up—consistently the most popular, from what I can tell! Expansion update confirmed, bringing new developments for the key mechanic, new characters, new plot events, and more dragons. High priority, but I'll likely finish my work on ESCAPE before starting in earnest.

If you were really hoping to access one of the projects that's been restricted, email me at cassaleatory@gmail.com—I'll try to make it happen. Any inquiries may also be sent to that address!

These are my favorite complete, story-driven games that I've found on itch.io. If you like the sort of stuff I make, you'll prolly like these, too.
